I was just sitting here wondering if like me, do any of you use your bow during firearm Deer season?
I prefer it where I hunt because any shot I get will be close and the neighbors won't here me shoot.
Also,  an arrow doesn't mess up so much meat.
So, how about it?

I do. There is a small portion of our family farm that is not open to firearms due to proximity of buildings, equipment, etc. I do occasionally find gun hunters sneaking onto this property. The majority of the farm is open to firearms and folks that ask permission. We do however limit the number of people and the area they may hunt to keep hunters separated. Deer drives are not allowed.

I have lost interest in rifle hunting over the years. The only time I go with a rifle now is if my son wants to. Here's a doe I took during rifle season last year.

Yep, if I go hunting it's with my bow.........haven't hunted with a gun in over 30 years.........I love bowhunting!

Here in Indiana, we can bowhunt thru the firearm and muzzleloader seasons as long we adhere to the hunter orange guidelines. At present, I don't even own a firearm that is legal for deer hunting. Nothing against guns whatsoever, just prefer to hunt with my bow.

I do. Haven't hunted with a firearm over 30 years now.

With our gun season smack in the rut, it can be the best time to ambush a good buck. The rifle hunters get them moving and if you have an out of the way spot, there will likely be one thru ...

Yeah I only bow hunt since about 96
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I haven't hunted with a rifle in 2 decades.  Bow only from start to finish.

I'm going to add,  I have shot several Deer during gun season between 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
I'll set in my ground blind from dark to dark.
Gun hunters tend to hunt mornings and evenings, going out of the woods late morning and come back late afternoon.
I'm thinking the Deer I have shot mid day have been bumped up and pushed to me.  :goldtooth:
Yep, that works for me.  :biglaugh:

I do.  In Texas you only have to wear Blaze while you are on the ground, so possibly to and from your stand.  I have several firearms, but they don't get any love during hunting season.

I enjoy rifle season almost as much as archery season. It's a tradition here in Michigan, and I look forward to the 15th as much as I do any holiday. While I love bowhunting, I also enjoy being able to reach out and poke one at 150 yards on occasion when I don't have meat in the freezer.

I do. Here in Mo. you have to buy a firearms tag and also wear the required orange clothing.

I have lost interest in firearm hunting..only draw for me is close and instinctive.

The last time I hunted with a firearm for deer, I killed a 140" buck. That was 1985. I figured I would kill the next one like that with my recurve.

.....over 130 deer and 39 years later....I'm still waiting. I guess I have more patience than most:)

Yes I do. In Illinois this is relatively new law that lets you hunt with a bow during firearm season on private ground while in possession of a firearms license. I view it as extra days to hunt, so I usually use these bonus days to take a doe if possible. Mike
