Glued up tip overlays too, buffalo horn and curly maple.

Any ideas on this wood species?

Fairly hard wood, smooth fine grain.

Shredd

   If it's fairly heavy it could be tiger wood (Goncalo Alves)

   If its on the lighter side, Paduak...   Paduak also has bright orange saw dust...

Roy from Pa

It's not super heavy but not super light either.

Could be Paduak as I remember having some of that...

Thanks Rich

Nope and won't matter in the riser..

Longcruise

Building an RC for the swap.  First one EVER!  :o

Good luck Victim. :biglaugh:

Here's the template.   Gonna have to pick up more material for the form.

First off will be to establish the formula and then as many more as needed to make a bow good enough for the swap.

wood carver 2

Got some wood together for my swap bow.
[attachment=1]
Some good Canadian worm eaten spruce for the belly.
[attachment=2]
Something for the core.
[attachment=3]
And some more quality spruce for the riser.
And there's a nicely dinged up slat of bamboo as well for the back.
I'll include a safety helmet when I ship.
