Even better in person, and that's saying a lot, since the pics themselves are terrific. Seriously nice bow. Feather light, perfect balance in the hand. 10 out of 10, Linc.

Thanks Terry,Dano and Tim. Finished up at 62 1/2" ntn. 45#@28" I had thought about playing around with it to gain weight but desided to leave well enough alone. With the windchecks and ring separation it just wouldn't take any more strain without blowing IMHO.  :bigsmyl:

Linc, have you noticed how soft the sapwood is on yew yet? I had to put tip overlays on before I could get mine on a short string. The string kept trying to tear the sapwood off. Good luck on this baby, looks like a nice project.

Killdeer

Dano, et al., Killdeer the Ignorant here! If that is so, how were the old English longbows constructed? I thought they were strictly selfbows.

How about some full draw pics of that beauty ?

Dano, Sure did notice. I think I'll be doing tip overlays.

Thanks David and Manny. The only full draw pics I have are when it was on the tree. I was feeling my oats today and over drew it.TICK!!! Got a couple of splinters on the back.Nuttin serious.Little superglue and some artificial sinew and will be good as new.

Manny, Jury is still out on tempering the belly. This is the first time I've tried it.

Linc,
Nice job on that knarly piece of osage. Like Dano and others suggested, I too always use horn overlays on the tips because the sapwood is so soft. I've enjoyed this thread and am looking forward to the Yew build a long. Have fun.
