One of my favorite threads of all time.

Truely hope that you again may find time to take us on another epic adventure.

Much thanks!

I just went through this thread.  These are photos that tell a story like the best of the Fred Bear little Delta pics!  I spent time with this thread in an attempt to increase my desire to make a trip I've been offered.

I have an unbelievably generous opportunity to spend 14 days in South Africa this July 31-August 13th. About 6 days would be spent bowhunting with about 4 spent teaching archery. A South African Professional Hunter Association will be the host.  The decision will be based  upon whether or not my son can get approval from his work (University) to go with me.  Neither of us have ever gone.

Bowwild, tell  your son to do anything he can to make that trip, you'll never regret it.

Probably the best photos I've ever seen of Africa, for fellas like myself that would someday love to make the trip, this thread makes me bones ache to go.

Well I did a horrible job of posting my photos from the S. Africa trip from two years ago.  I do have some pics on the Abowyer website but I am pretty much lost when it comes to posting here.  I am heading back to Africa soon though, this time to Mozambique for free range cape buffalo.  A very primitive hunt...pretty much jungle spike camping.  Working up my heavy bow/arrow combination for the trip and will bring addtional light set-up in case I have time for other plains game after the buff hunt.  My nephew (Marine Corps)- teaches special forces units from other countries weapons and tactics.  He's going to hunt with a 375HH on the trip and he'll be great to have since he's a field medic and weapons expert.  I'll "try" to do better on this trip with posting photos and taking more of them.  I leave Sept. 6th, so just a few months to go!!
Live every day like its your last, one day you'll be right.

Man I love this thread. I went through Kenya and Tanzania a few years back. When you go to Africa it just takes a piece of you and leaves this longing that doesn't go away until you see those vast spaces again.

Incredible pictures you guys. Africa is - at least in terms of landscape - paradise on Earth.

I'm going to Namibia myself in 2 months, and I will get my first chance to shoot game with a traditional bow. Where abouts in Namibia did you go? As in, the name of the lodge  :)
