I guess I should start with the question:  How quiet is quiet?

I was interested in hearing what those of you that shoot this bow have done to quiet it down.

I am shooting at 7 3/4 brace with 510 grains.  73 lb at 31 inches.  I have added brush guards and bats at 12.75 inches on the string.

What are you doing?

First thing I did was change the string it came with. I used the old Fast Flite material from the mid 90's because that is what I had on hand. I then cut out "Pads"  to go between the limbs.  I used thick paper, like a folder. limb savers. rubber cat whiskers. and a 525gr arrow braced at 8".  my bow was marked 50# @ 28"  but it was 55# @ 28". Mine was real quite but just didn't fit me.

Out of the box mine was horribly loud. Heres what I did:
- Toss the factory string. I went with a Mtn.
Muffler but I think Robert has scaled back his  stringmaking and I'm not sure if he's even making them anymore.
- Limbsavers at the fadeouts
- Brace at the top of the range
- thin neoprene between limbs and riser.

By doing these things, I got mine tolerably quiet. I would recommend going with a Gamemaster silencing kit from DAS Kinetic. If I was setting up a GM now, I'd go that route. David knows his stuff  :)  .

Quiet.....I guess my bow has been 'quiet' enough for me to shoot over the back of two deer, and while they looked the direction the arrow went I got out another arrow and made killing shots.
My bow has what I descrbe as a very 'dull thud' on release...I use dacron Flemish twist strings and catwhiskers.

I plan on getting a DAS kit for my GM, but I always have to play with things myself first. What materials have been used for making silencing pads for the GM? Seeen where neoprene was used. Also how was it attached or was it?

I made limb pads from a thin piece of innertube for my Gamemaster. I think you could find some material that might work in the craft section at a WalMart. Its a thin kinda dense foam like material in 8"x10" sheets. Just take the limb off and trace it out and cut.
