Well, Texas' deer season ended Sunday. I was able to sneak off late last week and get a last minute 3 day hunt to try and fill another tag...

I set up my DB Matrix in one of my favorite spots and decided to spend the whole day in it since it would be my last chance till next season....

Late in the morning, I had started to eat my lunch when this tall-racked fella and a couple of does walked into my shooting lane....

I was using my Mentor 53@28 and an Arrow Dynamics Tradlite tipped off with about 250 grains of Snuffer and adapter to get the weight up.....

I saw him go down, but decided to finish my lunch to give him a little more time when a group of javies came in. I picked the biggest of the bunch and sent another arrow out of the blind....he went down within 15 yards of the deer...

Saturday morning was COLD and windy.....I sat in the blind for a while and decided to go walking for a while....I came up on another group of javies down in a creek bed and was able to get an arrow into one of those....

So I got lucky and ended up with a full freezer at the last minute!!!!

My brother is a lefty and I started out as one, but my grandfather thought being a lefty would be too hard so he "corrected" me into a righty before I made 3. I still hold a pen like a lefty with my right-hand, drives my school teaching better half nuts. LOL

I've always fantasized about hunting javies, since I was a little kid.  Deer AND javies is just beyond reason LOL.  Great pics, thanks for sharing.

I agree B,
Javies, seem like a hoot.Just like huntin bunnies, cept bigger and badder.
Target archery is seeing how far away you can get and still hit the bull's eye. Bowhunting is seeing how close you can get and never miss your mark.

Nice shooting. Big snuffer in the right place and watch em fall - good as it gets.

WOW Danny,

Nice buck and nice javies. Wish my lease had javies. We do have some wild hogs, but have always wanted to hunt javies. Where is your place? Is it close to Angelo or do you have to drive awhile. I hunt Mason and it is 4 1/2 hrs from me. But, worth the drive for the 5 deer county.

Congrats again.Like my bro said I am going to take my grandson this week to try for a spike or doe.
