Any advice out there for finger pinch?  I shoot a 66" longbow.  I've always shot a glove, but recently changed to a tab and have noticed better releases. The problem though is that with the tab (a Bateman Cordovan with spacer) I'm getting a blister on the inferior aspect of my index finger, such that it hurts to shoot.  Its coming from contact with the nock.  I do shoot split finger and don't want to switch to three or two under.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am new to the tab...
 Thanks,  Aaron

Hi, Aaron. I assume by "inferior aspect"? You're talking about the inside of your index finger. I used to shoot the Bateman Cordovan Tab (switched to the Big Shot Glove by American Leathers), anyuway, when I was using the Bateman tab, I always modified mine... that dumb spacer was always the first thing to go!
Someday you and I will take the Great Hart by our own skill alone, and with an arrow. And then the Little Gods of the Woods will chuckle and rub their hands and say, "Look, Brothers. An Archer! The Old Times are not altogether gone!"

relax your fingers more, You are squeezing to tight and your finger is hitting the nock.. when I use a tab ( cold weather with a glove on )I keep my finger off the spacer the best I can, then try and keep the from touching..if I can.

Aaron, I shoot a 64" Fox longbow split finger & use a cordovan tab from Alaska bowhunting supply. It has no spacer & I have developed a callous on the inside of my index finger. I think if you use a tab you are going to develop a callous & be a bit sore till you do. My tab is one thickness of leather, but once I got used to it it's like nothing is there till you shoot. Frank

I think I'm going to let my finger heal for a couple days and shoot a glove and hopefully as frank said a callous will form.  I'll try it without the spacer to...

I think I'm going to drain that blister though with a hyperdermic  :)

Saxton, did you find a solution?

My brother's index finger is starting to blister in that spot, too.  Wouldn't this be caused by having his elbow too high on draw?  He says it's more comfortable that way (I do it too - habit from compound days), but of course the three fingers aren't lined up with the string on release, and the index finger gets "dragged" in the angle made above the arrow nock and the upper string.

Any suggestions?
