Has anyone ever tried Reparrow footings. I saw them posted on my Howard Hill email list and thought the looked interesting. Here's a link  Arrow repair

Yep,
I think, theyre pretty handy. There was a post just a couple days ago, where they were talked about some.Ya might wanna look at it.
Target archery is seeing how far away you can get and still hit the bull's eye. Bowhunting is seeing how close you can get and never miss your mark.

Have a look here.

I just ordered a dozen. Will let you know.

Reparrows are a blessing for sure, and they come in 11/32 and now 5/16. I found the softer woods like cherry easier to work. Titebond 3 is the strongest and least messy glue for my purposes-no need for epoxy.

SCATTERSHOT

I have used them for a while now, and have salvaged lots of arrows with them. I'm trying to get Jim to make one end with a female nock taper for selfnocks, but so far haven't convinced him. Glad to hear about the 5/16.

Hi Van,

I've still  got a  few  of the old  style. I've gotten spoiled  by the new ones, so will probably never  use  the  ones you  like. Thanks again for  that  wonderful  toilet  test you did!   :clapper:

It's a "reverse taper"...the normal tapered point end fits into the 4" reparrow reverse taper...slick as can be...very minor sanding (if at all), quick finish and away you go.

For the ~$15 bucks every wood shooter should try some...you'll be sold right away.

Jim sent me a couple when he was getting started.  I repaired a POC with one of his reparrows, then put a Ace HEX head on it.  Missed a squirrel with it and broke the reparrow behind the head, but not where I "repaired" the original arrow.  I think they're the best!!

Do these hardwood reparrows change the original spine of the shaft?

bjk

I don't think they could change the spine of the arrow, it only the first 4 inches (I may have to check that some time)...by adding weight to the front, it sure could change the dynamic spine.

I've checked a few of mine after adding the Reparrow and they came out with the same spine as before. I think it's because most of the bending in the spine tester is in the middle of the shaft. They really add very little weight. I just dreamed them up to fix arrows, but they look kind of neat too.
