It's a nice night out,and I was going to go sit out back in a brush blind I made and just see what I saw tonight. Wasn't going to hunt just wanted to sit.

Was walking by to get my seat situated, and saw this little guy in the brush I had stacked up. I took a picture and slipped out so mom could come back. I guess it's an axis wrong time of year for a white tail.

Nice Ric.  Gotta ask, are they normally birth in mid January where you live?

So cool. I don't know how anybody could look at that and not be awestruck by God's creation.

Alexander Traditional

Terry I'm not real sure. It seemed odd to me also. Axis might breed year round?

I agree Friend and Artic Hunter. The first time I saw it,it was looking right at me,but when I got my phone it wouldn't look at me and I didn't want to push it.

Yes, Axis breed year round.  You'll almost never shoot and Axis doe that isn't pregnant.  She either just had a fawn or is in the magic 2-weeks when she has not be bred yet!

That little fawn is well hidden!

Here's a picture with my chair up against the fence. I had to crop it down so you could see the deer better. When I first stacked that brush up it was green and made a really nice brush blind I need to get some more brush.

To be clear, I have no idea just by looking at the pic that is an axis.  Someone mention the time of year that fawn is and I just went with it.  Really odd to have a WT fawn in January.  But not so odd for an Axis.

These temps have got to make it rough on that little guy.
