Well its here! I'm going out on state land in the morning with one of my daughters, and we are so pumped! Got the broad heads flying sweet and sharp, the stand all tried out and packed perfect..hope I can sleep.

I'm excited for the temp drop. I'll have to work in the morning but I'm looking forward to getting out in the evening. A few days down here, then heading up to the Keweenaw on Thursday for a long weekend. Good luck!

Man that's sweet going to the Keweenaw! Pulled off some awesome family camping trips in the wilderness up there in our wall tent! Last one was High Rock bay..real nice up there for sure.

No deer tonight, but I did have a bear work his way right up into my lap. Kind of exciting being at eye level.

Oh man!! We didn't have that kind of excitement! But I had some does come by me at 12 yds that I wouldn't have passed on the biggest..they were on course for passing my 10yr old on her first real tree stand hunt so I just smiled and let em head her way..they split around her and then winded her..she was excited but held her shot and I'm proud of her that she showed restraint when the one stopped just a bit out of her comfort range..Great Opener!!

Got out for a couple hours last evening, saw a black squirrel and a coyote on NF land a half-mile from the shabin. Beautiful weather for the opener.

2 does and 3 fawns this evening. Fawns were so small I'm surprised they didn't have spots still! I would have shot one of the does if I wasn't heading north tomorrow, but I still had just as much fun watching them.

Had some luck on the public land tonight west Michigan.

That's what I'm looking for.
I can't draw my bow yet after hand surgery so I'm hunting vicariously with you all.
I'm hoping in a few more weeks I can shoot.
