I hunt off the ground and am looking for a more comfortable cushion. My setup now is I have a closed cell foam pad from Lowe's that I strap to my pack. When I get to my spot I just sit on my pack. That gets me up a bit off the ground and works out real nice for me. Now I'm just wanting a nicer cushion to sit on. Anyone have any recommendations for a really nice cushion? Would make long cold sits that much more comfortable. Thank you.

Hunt comfort tail mate gel core TS. Also works great with Waldrop Pac Seat.
Very comfortable

Thanks. I've seen that at the store. May have to try it. It did look nice.

Are you familiar with a Dean Torges Tree Seat?  I've used one of these (with a foam pad) for decades.  Made out of 1/2" plywood you attach it to a tree and can sit with your feet on the ground.  Set high enough you can stand quickly without needing to rock forward.

A "T" seat for duck hunting works great, and you can easily make one if needed.

I went ahead and purchased the hunt comfort ts cushion. I've tried the torges tree seat and just couldn't get it to work for me. Probably my construction of it. I really like the idea. I may try again and if successful I can use the new vision on it.

I made two changes to mine.  I lined the "V" cut with split reenforced rubber steam hose and attached it with sheet roofing screws.  The hex-heads stick out and grip the bark.  And, instead of the banjo shaped hole I drilled three 1-/2 holes in a row.  I thread the rope (from the outside edge) down through #1, up through #2 and down again in #3.  Then I tuck the loose end under the loop formed by #1 and #3.  Infinate adjustability for tree diameter.

I have one that is nice and thick. Pretty sure it was made from Millenium (sp?) Whether or not it is what you want-don't know.
I'll try to take a photo of it later.

Almost same as Stumpkiller except using the old store bought Cross River Hunter Seat model

Would you mind posting some pictures and measurements? I love the concept just haven't made it work for me yet. I made two prototypes but didn't like either of them.
