My new Wessel Archery recurve arrived & it's time to set it up.

I'll be shooting off a rest, got the bow strung up & shot a couple hundred arrows + left it strung last night to help with string stretch.

What I'm wondering:

Running to Scheels today for serving material-the nocks (Eason X nocks on an Axis arrow) are really tight....

1. Which size serving should I buy to tie on that will have better nock fit?

2. I like adjustable nock sets, same question there.

I'll order a couple mountain muffler strings as I really like the padded loops for noise reduction, but for now I'd like to get this setup so I can shoot!

Also for nock height since it has the rest on it I measure nock point from the rest vs off the shelf correct?

Yes, you measure nock height from the rest not the shelf.

Difficult to say what size serving thread you should get.  Probably the next step down from what you have, but what is that?  No way to know except perhaps asking the bowyer as tb suggests.

Take the serving off and take it to the store and get next Dia smaller then use the old serving for ur nock point  :dunno:

Unfortunately the only "shop" that's close is Scheels. There's a compound shop about 45 minutes away but I won't give them my business.

Bought some serving material + shot another hundred or so arrows. Starting to fit much better plus with getting nock points tied in that helped a bit for consistent placement.

REALLY liking this new Wessel recurve!

Has Brian started building again since selling Talltines?
Lefties are the only ones who hold the bow in the right hand.

If your nocks are just snug, you can take a piece of folded over sand paper and run it through the nock to widen it slightly.

I was texting with Brian several months ago and he was telling me he was building bows again. That is awesome, I have always loved his bows!

More I shoot the better they are starting to fit so that's good.

Yes. The nocks will squeeze down the serving a bit through use.
