True north cresting paint

Hi guys, I'm playing around at my arrow bench.
I was gifted some cool paints from true north for Christmas and would like opinions on this combo before I paint a full set.
I might have gotten carried away..... it seems a bit busy to my eyes.
As far as quality is concerned it coats well and flows from the brush nicely, the color selection is great as well.
Threeriversarchery.com offered some really neat vintage colors.
Let me know what you think, im fletching them with autumn brown and barred blue.

I think they look good. Hard to tell what the finished arrow looks like without fletching. An off white or cream colored crown dip might look nice too. I like fancy arrows.

They have that flat ceramic look to me which is what I consider the best looking cresting finishes,, i dont like shiny arrows for good reason... color and pattern you picked looks pretty good too,,, hopefully something in that crest lines up perfectly with something in the riser so you always know the brace is perfect.

I think they look good and will look even better once you get them fletched.  I've had the same thoughts on arrows I've done but once the fletching is on it pulls it all together.  I've been using True North Paints for several years now, and can't say enough about the quality of the paints, and the customer service from Joe!!!

I like them. Maybe a bit "busy" but with fletch some of that will "disappear ". Did you do the cap dip with their paint? Interested in how that works?

Yeah,
I used the vintage ivory cap dip from them.
I really like it, very smooth.
I'll probably end up ordering everything they make on a whim just to have it collect dust on my bench for a few years.

When I first looked at the pics I thought you cresting over a clear dipped shaft. After I looked closer I see that it's an ivory crown dip. Looks good.

Might have to invest in some dipping paint as well. It seems I have 4or5 dozen shafts that need paint. I am beginning to believe those wood shafts multiply "sitting on the bench".

I removed the black cherry and one set of rings from the final design.
Pretty happy with them.

I think they look great, variety is what makes it fun to do. Not the same old pattern dozen after dozen after dozen.
I do have another question have you experienced any drying problems with the orange crown dip from them? Last summer I tried a dozen Sitka dipped in the orange and they never did dry, even after being in direct sunlight at 90 + temps, for weeks. Tried again with a thinner mix and same results.

I haven't tried the orange crown dip.
These have the ivory and I have used white as well.
Both dried fast and seem durable.
I do mix my paints extremely well.
