Thanks for the suggestions.  I have all of the Wensel books Rothaar books, Thomas books and more, but I did order some off this thread and a couple more from a vintage store.  I have an ankle surgery coming up and will be laid up for 10 weeks.

Another interesting and good read is Kenny Morgan's "America, Wild Turkey and Mongrel Dogs" if you're into turkey both that and the "Death in the long grass book I'd mentioned are fantastic. The Capstick book btw is A NYT bestseller. Imagine how it's written that many people bought it

If you are looking for hunting and adventure. I would strongly suggest Bows on the Little Delta.  It is my favorite.

If you're looking for some great books that will keep you glued to your seat check out CJ Box - Joe Pickett series.  Not archery related though.  Joe is a Game Warden in Wyoming  (fiction) and involves some wild events.  There are over twenty books in the series.  I'm absolutely hooked.  Any hunter would enjoy these!

Empire of the Summer Moon by S.C. Gwynne.
Crazy Horse and Custer or anything by Stephen Ambrose. His narrative histories read like epic adventure novels. D Day, Band of Brothers, etc. are all phenomenal books.
Anything by Cormic McCarthy if you enjoy a darker story.

Anything by the late Jim Hamm from Texas. He has a number of books and including some with Tim Baker. Also the late Jim Daugherty from Oklahoma. Jim wrote for Peterson's Bowhunting, and a best of stories can be found in Trails Ending. Marv Clyncke from CO. finished his "Son of the Longbow" last year. Fred Anderson wrote "The Traditional Way" and "Toxicated: A Treasure of Archery's Golden Age". The late John Schulz wrote "Straight Shooting" about bows, hunting and what he learned from Howard Hill.

Since permits are available in ID and MT to hunt wolves, you might like Wolfer by Carter Niemeyer a trapper and adventurer from Ohio that moved to MT after graduating. Wolfer: A Memoir, is his story of capturing Canadian Wolves in Canada for a reintroduction program approved by Congress. It begins in early 1990's with Canadian Wolves that were much larger than the Timber Wolf, that was exterminated by ranchers and others. Read what happens when the Wolves don't follow the governments plan. IMO. Carter new more about the Wolves than the government, politicians and biologist. Paperback 2020.
