Crooked Stic

Anybody use it for riser wood? Seems pretty cheap. I see some top end guys use it also is it toxic say like  cocobolo or bacote.

Would it be structurally strong enough for a riser? Maybe as an accent.

I have never I-beamed it but my bows are always below 50 pounds. I use it as an accent piece mostly. Not sure how it would hold on its own.

You can get some nasty slivers from it though.

The people who live where it grows use black palm to make self bows. It's strong.

I played with it once....that was good enough for me. Wasn't worth the extra work involved to me... good luck with that stic.   Kirk
