Tip wedges how to?

Looking to make my first ASL soon, have everything pretty much ready to go except tip wedges. I don't want to use built up limb tips. Are the pre tapered tip wedges available to purchase anywhere? I don't have a drum sander and I'm not sure how to taper down something so small by hand? On the bows I have they appear to be approximately 3" long and tapered from 1/16" to zero. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What tools do you have, table saw, band saw?
Start out with a piece about 12" long and taper each end, then you can cut them off where you want.

Sam those sound more like overlays at string groove I think.

Buying pre-made sounds like a no brainer. But if you need them right away, they only take a few minutes to make by hand

How does that request relate to tip wedges?

How does that array make a tip wedge?

Craig Ekin used to have them on his site.  His were/are fiberglass if i remember correctly.   Like the ones he used in his bows.

Damn! I forgot to include the hand that holds the wood block with the fiberglass piece glued on that is rubbed back and forth on the sandpaper (at an angle) until the desired taper is achieved.

Seems like that would be constantly reducing the part that the (unillustrated) hand holds while rubbing it back and forth.

Easy for you to say!   Bet you have not been banned and reinstated lately

Longcruise, it's a little tedious, but not impossible to carefully hand sand a taper onto a 3" X 1.5" X .050 piece of glass
I would not recommend going into production, but a pair is reasonable to knock out.

I have a machinist's cast iron surfacing block with two sheets of 60 grit sandpaper adhered edge-to-edge on it which I use frequently for feathering the edges of tip and riser overlays before gluing. Also have a larger piece of granite countertop which being dead flat is useful in the same way.
