I have been a member for a while but was waiting to make my first post in the highlights thread. On October 5th I shot my first deer with a bow and i did it with my recurve. I shot her at 8 yards while hunting on the ground and wearing a ghillie suit i made last year. I was shooting a 45lb Samick Deermaster I won at a local archery shoot. Im using some of Big Jims 3555 GT Blems with some Zwickey 125 grain broadheads. I shot her quartering away and hit a little far back and clipped the liver. So I waited a few hours and walked up on her bedded down and finished her off. I have killed many deer with my rifle and muzzle loader but this was by far the most exciting and rewarding kill ever. I want to say thanks for all the tips and advice I have gotten on this website and I look forward to posting more and possible adding some advice as I continue to learn more about traditional archery.

Im not exactly sure how to add a photo but I will give it my best shot.

Thank you Skitch! I got her right behind the shoulder..... lol just messin with ya. We have a little land to hunt near Roll, its north and kind of west of Cheyenne. I was hunting in a tree line full of locust and Osage trees that the deer use as a funnel to get to a big wheat field.
