no it is definitely a red squirrel, Im not sure if we have the grays up in north idaho or not. I would be happy if we did though because they're much bigger then the red ones so more meat!

Is it a year round open season on those little buggers?

Turns out, my arrows are close to 550 grains, which im very happy about. the more weight, the more power!!

fido dog

Your arrows are a bit light. Try a 300gr single bevel next and maybe.....just maybe they'll be ready to eat when you pick them up...LOL!

We don't have many here, but there is one in a tree off my balcony. He's my little buddy. I call him "Lemon Pepper" for my own reasons.....mwahahaha!

At 10 yds you're lucky that it didn't charge you Gunnar!

Good shootin' and eatin'!

Gunnar, check the regs.  Red squirrels are a protected nongame mammal in Idaho.
So don't wait until you retire to go hunting and fishing.  Don't even wait for your annual vacation.  Go at every opportunity.  Things that appear urgent at the moment may, in the long run, turn out to be far less so.

As already stated, it looks like a gray squirrel
(not red or pine).
Nice shootin'

Gunnar Mullins

i do see the similarity, but its got the tail of a red squirrel, and it acted like a red squirrel, it wasnt very shy (until i shot at it) lol

Just the opposite on size down here. The red ones, we call um fox squirrels, are bigger than the grays (cat squirrels)
