Having "Search" Challenges

I have been having difficulties with searching on Trad Gang recently.  If I search by User Name or for anything on the Powwow, the computer works for a while, and I get an error message that says something like this:

"The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

The search function appears to work OK on the smaller forums such as this one or "Dangerous Game", but not on the large ones.

I live out in the country and don't have blazing fast internet (5 mbps download, 1 up) but it seems to work for everything else I've ever tried.

Suggestions?  I am surprised I miss looking up old threads and information...
