Okay guys,
I've been building my son-in-law a bow for Christmas. And doing a build along photos for you too see. (when I'm finished and can post all the photos at once)
the bows been coming along real well, with almost no real problems...until now.
I was doing my finish sanding before spray coating the bow when I noticed on of the nocks is cracked.
So should I super glue it or try and replace it?
If I replace it, I'll have to redo both nocks to match.

I really need some advice!!!
Thanks.

Did you grind the wood pc. to fit the curve of the limb? If not you'll have trouble with both nocks eventually. The reason I ask is the wood looks the same thickness all the way along it.Its a lot easier to keep em on if they don't have to be forced to the glass.

Please don't take offense to my assuming this, just looks that way from the pics.

No offence taken Kenny, and your right, I didn't sand them to fit the curve.
On my first bow, I used micarta and didn't sand to the curve either.
If using micarta should I still grind to the curve?

You would have been fine if you would have used 2 pieces of purple heart 1/2 the thickness of the one you used.  Assuming that is purple heart.  Keep the overlays thin and they will comform easily.  1/16th of an inch or less.  Chad

What Chad said is probably easier and the best route. I've got a bunch of 1/8" micarta,so I grind to fit and put a thin wood overlay on till I use it up!

Thanks Chad & Kenny! Sux that I have to grind the overlays off, but better to do it now, than have to deal with it later after finish has been applied.
