Hi guys
I have been trying to make a pyramid bow from pine. It has perfectly straight grain and no run offs. I stung it tuo too early and have deep chrysals on the top limb belly, is it dead or can I save it !!!! HELP!!!!

RayMO

Forget the pine, I don't think it will every take the compression on the belly or the stress on the back. Too bad isn't it? There is a lot of pine, poplar, and other few soft woods around.

She's a fire starter that one. I wouldn't bother with the pine, can you buy some hardwood over there to try...Glenn...

As it turns out guys, I scraped past the chrysals and got about 36-38# @ 28" I just know if it was a bit thicker in the limbs it would be fast it has no string follow, and no sign of destructing itself yet, I'm sure this is besause its so wide 2 i/2 " It'is very light in weight and despite popular opinion i'm going to make another one, after all it only cost me £1.17!!!
I'll try and do some pics next time. thanks for your comments guys, I don't know what I'd do woithout this website, i love it !!!!

That is just great! Let us know how it goes Asharak. Maybe 3 inch wide and pine will work.
