I worked to to much, I learned from it and that's what counts. I did use the rasp more on the limbs then I did with the other bow, That and having the limbs twist didn't help.

Jeff if you are moving the tips 16" it is time to brace the bow with a low, 3" to 4" brace height. You will get an incorrect reading using a long string much past 10" or 12". I try to low brace as soon as possible to see how the tiller is at that point and be sure the string is tracking OK. So far you look good on the long string but it is time to move on.     Pat

Jeff, sorry it took me so long to get here. I'm proud on ya! Coming along good and this is the kind of thread that helps others starting out - IMO. I feel that way because (like me/mine) you are learning, as you are doing, and it invites the advice of our more knowledgeable/experienced friends and members. Also your pics are good (and folks love pics).

I use my K-bar a lot as a scraper (although it doesn't seem to faze Hickory too much - LOL). If you can get ahold of (industrial size - aprox 1 1/2" front to back) used bandsaw blades,(like folks use for trade points, thin knives, etc.), cut them/it into 1 foot or so lengths, tape the tooth side, and sharpen the other (right angle/square edge) and, viola! -Instant srapers, that are nicely flexible. Just a thought - used by lots of folks. Here is a pic - the squareer one (in the right corner) is an old Stanly Tools brand Cabinet Scrapper, el cheapo - but works pretty good (not very flexible though):

Awwww, geeze, Killie, now he'll start referring to me as "chubby"    "[dntthnk]"      :D

(You better get back to work on the bow, Jeff, or make a scraper, or something, while there is still a thread left that qualifies-    :D   )

Jeff, There was a guy who got them from where he worked, cut 'em, and would send some (as I recall 6 or 8) to folks for just 6 bucks to cover mailing (he was maybe realizing a few cents only on each shipping), just to share a good thing. If you don't find any let me know and I'll see if I can locate him again. Shipping to "Upsidedownartica" might be a little more but it is still a good deal, and he is pretty quick with getting them on their way.

Killie, I've seen you hit things even with your eyes open - even if you were looking somewhere's else at the time - but Dano's fast going up and down hills. (Just kidding, Lady  - you always outshoot me - overall - you don't get as tired as I do -   :archer:  )
