I've seen that bow before. Didn't you bring that to the camp-o-rama?  The bow is a rocket launcher. Chris was shooting cane arrows that were between 600gr and 700gr and he was smoking them.
Very nice bow, Chris.  Pat

Bob's your uncle (is that right Rob?) - that bow's got it all, beauty, bend and blood.

Mechslasher-
I really like your bow. Great work.  Could you give some of its vital statistics: Woods, draw weight, draw length, whether you steamed or boiled the tips before bending, etc?

Mechslasher

thanx fellows!  i built this bow on the bear/grumley pattern from the 50's, it has always been one of my favorite designs.  this bow is 62" long and built from osage.  the recurves has lams of walnut and osage for the brush guards.  i used buffalo horn for the tip overlays.  i steamed the tips and bent a 60 degree curve for the statics.  the bow draws 65@28".  after building one, i don't know how they mass produced this bow design during the bear/grumley era.  this is one of the sweetest shooting bows in my rack.  it put a 550gr. obsidian tipped cane arrow through the heart of a boar at about 15 yards.  had several chances at a 150 pound class boar but wasn't sure of the penetrating power of my stone tipped arrows.  i wouldn't hesitate to take the shot today.
