Hey Dano!

Nice look'n little bow there ! What's that funny look'n tree you got that bow leaning against? I don't reckon I've ever seen one like that around here?

Oh,,thats right, you retired and headed for a warmer place didn't you! Ain't you gonna miss our unpredictable winter weather here in the mid-west? 50 degrees one day and -15 degrees the next.

I've always enjoyed veiwing your work Dano, keep it up and enjoy your retirement!

I heard that you promised you wouldn't talk about that time, Dano    ;)

BTW I made a three piece (tiered) pad out of the closed cell foam for my bendy handle Osage and wrapped it with the stuff they use on golf club and tennis racket handles. As well as replacing the floppy rest with one of "Your" (now "our"    :D   ) layered leather rests (a small one for that thin, flat edge). It is much more comfortable to shoot now but still shoots quite well. I'll get a pic or two and maybe show ya - if yer a good kid    :p   .

As for liking cops, well, I think we're all likeable.....  :bigsmyl:

You probably weren't a good kid but I'll show you anyway. First a picture of how it was when I got it. Floppy rest (rather long and curved) and wrapped with beaver tail (I liked that), still very flat and uncomfortable to shoot - but nice:

Here is after I took the Beaver tail, hard thin leather slab in palm, and Floppy Rest off and afixed the three piece, tiered foam on the belly of the handle, a layered leather rest, and wrapped with sport handle wrap. One pic shows side and rest better, the other shows the foam to protect the palm but without hampering the bendy feature of the handle:

Much better, I have been lookin for some of that foam.

You know tho, the longer I shoot this bow with no rest (off the knuckle) I kinda like it, course I have'nt been bit by the fletching yet  "[dntthnk]"

Yep, I know what you mean. I like to do that once in awhile too - until a fletching end that isn't sealed good "gets me" - Ouch!

Thats the great thing about fletching tape and Duco or fletch tite for the dot on the end, makes for a pretty smooth arra.

Bernie,

There is a very dense closed cell foam that whitewater kayakers use to custom fit their boats. If you live near a paddleshop you can probably find it there.
