I put some stabilized Wenge scales with Buffalo bolsters and white fiber spacers on a knife this weekend. I glued the scales together and then fitted them to the handle, drilled holes and then glued and pined it together.

After shaping the handle, I was admiring the cool grain pattern and I noticed that I had the grain going in one direction on one side and the other direction on the other side. What a Rookie mistake!
I was sure that I put the scales together correctly. I always take pictures during the process so I looked back at the pictures and I did put them together with the grain going correctly. I am totally confused...

Lin, here are pictures from the top. Looking at these pictures it makes since the way the grain is on the knife...
But...    :bigsmyl:

I put a angle between the bolster and the scale. Sooo the distance from the pin holes to the spacer would be different if I flipped the scale over, oh well guess I need to do another one (this time I will not use orange stabilizer resin!)

I think it's pretty neat, great looking blade with a great looking handle. You did a great job splicing the scales together as well.
