If your sick of kwaikens or Japanese inspired pieces, you probably should move along.

I have been doing a ton of these style blades lately, here are a few variations.

XL Oregonto. This one is double ground and at .275" thick it is a serious battle blade. The Hartsfield style sheath is wrapped in Bison leather.

Chisel ground compact Oregonto with Old school cotton under wrap and turks knot. This one has 3.75" blade. Gorgeous mahogany bison on the sheath.

One more with a 4" blade and burgandy stingray.

I call this one "chunkidashi"  :D

Can never get enough of your Japanese style knives Ben. Great work.

Japanese style blades don't turn my crank at all but fine craftsmanship does and these are no exception. What beautiful and masterful work!

Elegantly modern yet I'd imagine any Samurai would be happy to carry them into battle. We're I still a warrior I would!

The first pic of the Chunky reminds me of a pick/spear point of some kind because of the angle of the picture. That might be an interesting EDC defensive sticker!

Nice work Ben. I love that red stingray.
Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to make the Hartsfield style sheaths?
They work well for longer blades I assume?

Thanks. They work well for most any straight knife. The biggest one I have done was for a 7" blade so far. No tutorials. I just spent a long time with trial and error getting a method that works for me.
