So believe it or not, this is the very first damascus knife I have ever made! This one is for my dad, using some damascus he picked up at the gathering last year. The Steel is Chad Nichols Boomarang san mai XHP core. The handle has black black sting ray and hammered Zirc menuki. It is double ground and comes to a needle point. The blade is 6" long and would make a wicked edc. The sheath is a Hartsfield style wrapped in some very nice sharkskin. I have one more from the same billet to finish up, it should be just a slick.

Let me know your thoughts!

It's good to see you back Ben. You've done some fine work lately. Not just knives. You've worked hard to help others that have had some misfortunes. All of this and still taking care of your family. I'll shake your hand some day I hope.    :campfire:

Thanks guys.
Been super busy as of late, sometimes forget to post everywhere. This is one of the first places I learned about custom knives, I'll keep posting up as long as  you'll let me. : )

Same here Lin, looking forward to it my friend.

Absolute stunner. That wouldn't last one hour at the blade expo in Atlanta.
Opinions are like armpits everybody has a couple & they usually stink .

That's incredible.  You know, it's kinda strange.  I have never been a big fan of Japanese style knives, and still am not overall, but every time you post one, I find myself really liking it.  Not sure what it is, but your take on the style really works for me.

Really nice stuff Ben. I am thinking ax the sting ray and let the Damascus show through the cord wrap handle. May look nice.

What a perfect knife for daily carry...... a serious defensive tool disguised as a work of art...... and the right size to dress out everything from whitetail to water buffalo .......
