I finished this one up for myself in between a few other projects I have going on. Knife steel is 1095 and the handle is stag with red liners (forgot to take a top view pic). The overall length is close to 7.5". Its a simple knife design, nothing fancy but it serves it's purpose and thats what I was going for. I got to test it out on a doe not long after finishing it up and it retained it's edge very well throughout the gutting, skinning, and butchering process. I have my 2 week Christmas break coming up and plan to finish some more, a couple for some friends and a few for myself.

So there still nice pieces of stag available. I haven't been to a knife show in a while, but the last ones I went to, something like that was really rare.

That finish on the blade really looks nice too.

Ron, I got that piece from a knife show in KC this last September. There was quite a bit there but the prices have gone up lately it seems. I wish I would have bought more of it when I was there.

I like it!   Well done!

Very nice. I bet it made a short job of the wet work on that deer.

You'll notice the "luckiest" elk hunters have worn out boots.
