Jawbone knife

New hunting knife by Lozada knives. 440C/58 RW Crio ss, 3 1/2" blade. Full tang, with stained and stabilized whitetail jawbone handle with goat horn spacer, hilt and buttcap 416 ss. Shortened the hilt a bit to be in line with blade and having the hilt and buttcap engraved and a custom sheath made, will post those photo's when done. Super sharp edge.

The jawbone handle style is one I have seen a lot but never made. Nice knife. It's one of the better looking jawbone knives I've seen.

What is the origin of this style? Is there a historic precedent?

I just like the uniqueness of it, I shortened the hilt a bit to be more in line with the blade to make it easier to handle, currently having the hilt and buttcap engraved. Looking for someone that can make a unique sheath in keeping with the knife. The handle is not thick, so it is quite light and easy to handle. I like the staining it makes the bone look like wood.
