I KNOW EVERYONE HAS SEEN STACKED LEATHER HANDLES ON KNIVES. SO I DID SOMETHING NEW TO ME. LEATHER HAS BEEN SEALED/SOAKED IN CA GLUE. LOOKS KINDA COOL. SO WHAT YOU ALL THINK?<><

Looks great, looks like wood to me. Tell Shell she has a P.M. from me.
If you've never been in the woods at daylight, and seen the world come alive, you haven't " Lived".

I always liked the looks of those leather build up selfbow handles.  Guess I didn't think about it for a knife handle...very nice!

It looks nice!  Looks like woods scales.  What is CA glue?  I've seen it mentioned here before.

Bodork

I saw the bow handle build along done that way. It looks just as good on a knife. You'd think it was wood. Frank, your knives just keep getting better and better! Mike

Thanks guys. As soon as I get my new forge and it finally gets warm out. I am going to try and give a knife away every now and then. I miss doing it cuz it's always a BLAST! May do another leather handle anmd I have a idea for something else also.<><

Looks great. Yeah give more details on how you soaked it with CA. Man must have took a bunch of glue?
Most people get rich by making more money than they have needs, me, I just reduced my needs!

farmboy

That looks super!....Are you using commercially available lanyard liners?.....I thouhgt maybe an properly sized cartridge casing might work?

Its probably been done already but I'm going to try it on one of my next knives.

farmboy, you can just use brass tubing for the lanyard hole, and brass rods for the pins.

brettlandon

At first glance I thought you were kidding, "that's wood," I thought.  But it's definately leather and I think really cool!  Thanks for posting it Frank.

Excellence is achieved, not purchased.

Steve Nuckels

I like everything about that knife!

Lewis Brookshire III

Very cool, and neat idea with the layers of leather. How much CA glue did you go through doing it?

Great idea!  Looks very nice.

Looks great Frank!!

Used the leather and CA glue for an arrow rest/shelf,but that's a great idea instead of stacked leather rings for handle material.Came out very nice!

frank that looks awesome but i hope no water can get in otherwise it will swell up and  that wont be a pruty site then all that work will be down the drain.
