Got bored waiting to order my new grinder, so to pass the time I started making a sheath for one of my bigger knives. Just need a couple beads or something and its done!

I really like that (2nd pic) sheath design.  I'm gonna have to try and make some like that.  Now show the knife please.
What beads are you gonna use?

tomh

The knife is just a Cold steel bowie. I really just made the sheath for practice.
Think I will use some bone hairpipe or something brass maybe, depending what Tandy has. It is the same sheath in both pics. I stole the design from somewhere, can't take any credit for that.

"I really just made the sheath for practice" Looks like to me you don't need any more "practice". Looks great to me
Most people get rich by making more money than they have needs, me, I just reduced my needs!

Ha! you should see the stitch line in the back. It is EASY to get them nice in the front, but some places on this thick leather it is dang near impossible to poke a straight hole. It looks rough believe me, but thanks! I am going to keep practicing till I get it right.

Haha, I think I know where you saw and STOLE the design.  I've seen it before aswell, BUT still a nice looking sheath.  That you can take credit for!!!!!
I'd still like to see the Cold Steel Bowie.  I have a Cold Steel Master Hunter that I really enjoy.  I think they make a fine knife that isn't over priced!

On the lace up cuff design, I have seen it at least 2 places, from Chuck Burrows of Wild Rose Trading Co. Leather, and Ed Caffrey. I have no idea if one of them invented it or where they got it from. I think it may have been around a while.

When I get my grinder I am cutting the rubber off the Cold Steel and putting a nicer wood handle on it.

I may copy that blade shape as well. It has a nice outline to it, but it is like a sharpened pry bar. Needs a proper distal taper put into it. I will post a pic when I get a minute to snap one.

The sheath looks great to me.  Come 'practice' on some of mine.  :biglaugh:
