I traded Rick Dumas a recurve for a knife that he would make me.  I gave him very little info to go on, as I like to let artists do their thing.

I just saw the pictures of the knife:

The knifemaker takes 3 bars of different damascus welds them together for a different pattern effect.

I am very happy with the way it came out!

Yep,  Rick sure does know his stuff and is a very Fine artist to boot.  Thats one AWSOME looking knife.

Oops, Rick is good friends with John and Wei Lonewolf.  John did the blade, Wei did the scrimshaw.  The design was Ricks.  I had no idea what I would get when I made the deal.  I just asked Rick to "make it a fair trade".  Until I saw the pictures last night, I still had no idea what it would look like.

Thanks for the kind words, John, Rick and Wei all seem to know what they are doing

That knife is amazing!  Looks like somethin' ya'd wrestle a baar with.  Beautiful work all the way around.  Looks like you got the best of the trade.  :goldtooth:
