here's one i just finished.  saw a knife with mammoth tooth scales and i had to give them a try.  forgot that dentine in teeth was the second hardest natural material and also one of the most brittle.  this stuff is not for the beginner.  it would light up on the inside as i was grinding it on my belt sander.  the blade is seki city damascus from japan.  enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful.  I would have loved that 8 mos ago but now I truly have an appreciation for how nice a job that is.  I'm currently working on a few of my own damascus blades and some stock removals,  It is truly a labor of love.  You've done some work that will make your great grandkids proud.  Any ideas on a sheath?? I'd love to see that as well.

Wow! That knife is stunning!!! How did you get the mammoth to hold still for the extraction? Almost seems like you would have to steal one from a museum. The resourcefulness around here is mind boggling.
