I just heard about this tonight, their is a meeting in Bozeman, Mt. at the Grantree from 1-5 PM (Sunday) 5/16/2010. Retired Biologist Jim Beers from USWS will give a presentation about the Northern Yellowstone Elk. Purpose is to unite people against the US Wildlife Service introduction of Wolves and the distruction of the Elk in the all the west. More information is available at this website. The meeting info is in the banner, top center.

I have heard estimates that there are 4800 wolves in the west (MT, WY, ID, OR, WA.) People need to become informed about this important issue and the affect these predators are having on wildlife, livestock, pets and humans.

This was proven to be hogwash, as a recent artical by animal biologist have also stated that the fox, coyote, deer and other animals also carry parasites.

Senator Bruce Tutvet was at one such meeting here in Kalispell, and the shop owner who thought he would be such an advocate for the cause, discounted what the shop owner had said was facts.  This cry over the wolves, which I agree take a toll on our elk, are now able to be hunted with a tag and the quota is met thru hunting them here in Montana.  Same goes for the Mountain Lion, they believe it or not eat just as much as the wolves do.

Jim Beers needs to get his facts straight, as there is no scientific data to back up his statements.
