We had our VA opener last Sat.  This little doe wandered in at 7:15am.  Nice one for the freezer:

Just got this bow from Norm the previous Monday.  Here are the stats:  62" Blacktail Elite VL (Cocobolo and Bocote) 55#@29", 30" Goldtip traditional 55-75 with a Wensel Woodsman total weight ~530 gr.  The deer ran about 120 yards.

The most frightening thing you are likely to encounter in nature is yourself.

One for the freezer is always a good thing. Congrats.

And that's one sweet looking bow you have. Those Blacktails are a thing of beauty for sure.

Good way to break-in a great bow...a blacktail on a whitetail!   I like it. I hope to break mine in on a blacktail in the late hunt here in Oregon.

Good for you!

...and I like the way you dressed up the photo with those leaves.  Too many hunters leave the tongue hanging out, open and bloody cavity, in the garage or back of pickup, etc.  I like nice pics...like yours.

The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.
