I just read in Bowhunter Magazine that Fred has finished his quest for the Super Slam with a Recurve.  There's a full page congratulations from his friends on page 39 of the Jan/Feb issue.  That's two for the Trad Community.  Maybe someday a few more of us can join him.  Again, congrats.

Congradulations to Fred nobody deserves it more or worked any harder to achieve this personal goal.

Brian,

All legal NA big game animals...depending on the whims of the govenments it ranges from 26-29.

And...anyone who has a super slam, even if it was done with a rifle, has worked VERY hard.

I too just read it in Bowhunter yesterday. Fred has a great show and couldnt happen to a nicer guy. Congrats Fred.

Congratulations, Fred.  I'm only about 24 behind you...
Hope to see you in Pittsburgh at the PBS Banquet.

Congrats to Fred, and Rick for that matter.

I enjoyed watching Freds shows, from the 1st time I saw them. I got to meet him a couple years back too, what a regular down to earth guy. So easy to talk to.

I'm sure I would have gotten into trad hunting regardless, but seeing some of his shows inspired me to step up and go for it a little sooner than later.

slams? whats the point of a slam? to beat your chest and say "look what i've done"? sounds like more of a competition thing that belongs in the comercial side of hunting. just my 2cents.

lighting up a little Pete.. That's one heck of a accomplishment. Congrats to Fred in a big way.

pete p,
I believe it is a personal goal which takes alot of dedication and hard work, not for everyone.
I haven't heard Rick or Fred beating their chest or bragging about their accomplishment.

and oh yeah,,, Congrats to both Rick and Fred! I know Fred is a member here,,, have not seen him post in a while though,,, hope either man can chime in. If you look at the span of time it took for these guys to accomplish this feat and can fathom the hardwork it took,,, I'd be a little up beat about myslef too.
