Very kool John!  I saw the pics of Timo's bow he posted a few months ago...my dad's going to have to re-stock his grass carp this fall ;-)

Don't know how I missed you at Mojam...sure wanted to meet you and Mickey.  I got to meet Mickey, of course he's easy to spot, just look at every kid that walks by until you find one with no hair ;-) You'll just have to wear a flag on your head next year so's I can spot you.

very nice work John. I have done alot of things in a motel room but never did that. I think when you carry that much stuff on the road with you, so you can build bows. YOU MAY BE ADDICTED!! Good job..

The overlays are glued up.  I'll hopefully get to shape them tomorrow and even start the sanding and finishing.

You know Tim, these things do stink a bit.  I had the bow in my hot truck all day while I worked and then had a 5 hour drive home.  I got a bit sick of fish skin smell.  It's worth it though.

I kind of wondered about the maid.  I cleaned up real well but there was that odor.  I wonder what the maid thought of a fish smell in a hotel room.  Maybe she's used to it  :)

I have no doubt I'm addicted Chad.

See you next year rocdoc.

I got a turtle strike plate (Timo again) and a buffalo wool windicator (madpigslayer) to add also.

Calvin, my departure from MOJam was not what I wanted it to be.  I'm sorry I hurt your feelings.  I'll try to be more sensitive next time  :)   Love...John

You two get a room.  ;-)

Those carp skins look really cool John.  To be honest, I have no interest in snake for a bow backing but for some reason that fish skin is really appealing.

Timo

John, The fish smell will stay with the bow, until you get it sealed.Every time you touch it with a file, or do a bit of sanding, you'll be reminded of your "Hotel foray".

Linc

John, That is one cool looking bow.     How did you remove the scales? Same as snake skins?Would an acetone wash kill the fishy smell?
Lincoln E. Farr

Timo

Linc, I brought the fish skinning process up for ya.
