Hi!
I'm going back to SA for a bowhunt this summer and is planning to take my Ed Scott Owl Bow with me!

Specs are: 68" 55@31 juniper longbow with Coachwhip skins on the belly    :archer:

Curious if any of my fellow tradgangers have been hunting the African game with a selfbow and wooden arrows?

Hi Margly,

I think there are a few articles on african archer where a few animals are taken with selfbows. Check it out

Hey fellas: I am not sure, but think Paul Brunner as shot a couple African game animals with his self- bows.  Les

I was lucky(?) enough to share a camp with Paul in 2007 at Greater Kuduland.  He had a slew of different bows with him including some self/sinew bows.  As many times as he has been there I am sure he has shot a bunch of critters with his stick bows.  I shot two impala on that trip wit a 52" osage and sinew bow that I built.  I had planned to hunt exclusively with osage and sinew bows but the 65lb bow I had planned on using blew up on me...long sad story, don't ask.  As a result I took a fiberglass bow because I was afraid that my little bow was too light for the tuff stuff at 45lbs.

Well I will for sure post some pics when I'm back home again from my trip  :)
With some game and my Owl bow!

Lykke til.
Eg reiser ned i April, men har ikkje bestemt meg for hvilken bue eg skal bruke. Satser på å bygge meg ein ny ein  :)

Hei Aun Egil!

Mvh Ronny
