Just got back and am a little low on sleep!  We had an excellent time.  Good people in camp, great scenery, good hunting, etc.  I focused on some species that I had not already taken.  Ended up taking a gemsbok, mountain reedbuck, bushbuck, and impala. Here are some pics. Killed everything with my trusty old 53lb. Habu recurve, and eclipse broadheads.

Could have taken a number of other species also, but this was my third trip, and decided to try and practice some restraint.  Warthogs were REALLY hard for me to pass up, but I've got a ton of pictures of nice ones, and plenty of video.

I double lunged everything with the exception of the bushbuck. On that day we were hunting out of a double bull blind and when I shot, my limb hit the top of the blind and threw my arrow off.  Quartering away, my arrow went in just in front of his hip and quartered out the other side.  Gut shot.  We tracked him (he had gone about 60 yards) with the dogs, and I was able to get another arrow in his chest.  Africa is great, but there is no way I will be able to go back for a while.  Hell I'm still paying for the last trip!!!

Gerardo, thanks.  I married well.  My new wife is from a hunting family and she loves the outdoors. She was in the blind with me all the days we hunted.  She got to see baboons up close and personal.

Jon,

You two make a very handsome couple! Congratulations on the hunt and the wonderful experience together. I know how great it is to be with ones wife on an African hunt. I have now done it twice, but would not have been able to get mine to go there on our honeymoon. You have obviously done very well in choosing your wife and in your hunting. I even like your Stormy Kromer, which I assume is the short billed bowhunter's version that Ron LaClair helped to design.
