Enjoyable reading for the long flight?

Looking for a few good books to pack for the long plane flight across the big pond.I have read Hemmingways Green Hills of Africa and Don Thomas's The Spiral Helix. Enjoyed them both. Any good hunting books about Africa you would suggest? Archery preferred, but will take any good read.

Get anything you can find by Peter Capstick.
His books are honest and humble but will scare you even if you're carrying an H&H 470. double much less a STICKBOW. I promise you will enjoy them. The Title "Dangerous Game of Africa" is one of the best. I belive in this book he mentions Fred Bear and Archers in general with a lot of respect. GOOD LUCK....

While not about Africa or Bowhunting, I can thoroughly recommend any of Jim Corbett's books.
He hunted man-eating Tigers and Leopards in India.
My favourites are the "Leopard of Rudrapryag" and
the "Man-eaters of Kuman".
Corbett was a very brave hunter and a genious at storytelling

I have read a biography of corbett that Capstick wrote. It is a good book . Jock is right, it would make good reading for your trip.

I was going to recommend Don T.'s Helix but you have already read it. You might find Teddy Roosevelt's book on hunting in Africa a good read. It's not written in the style we have today but it is very descriptive and tells you what it was like back in his day.

After Double Helix by Don Thomas, which you have already read (which also has a recommended reading list in the back), I would recommend African Twilight by Robert F. Jones, Safari by Walt Prothero, and my favorite of the year, Colors of Africa by James Kilgo. As I am headed to Africa this coming June, I have become something of an African literature junkie, and these three are at the top of the list, after Don's book, of course.
