Wes and family!  Our condolences! It is always tough to lose a member of the family. Cooper was a big gentle giant.  I hope the girls are taking it OK.

Hey thanks guys, It's been a tough couple days, he was my best friend & an incredible member of the family, he literally went with us everywhere. I have countless memories with him that I will hold close to my heart till the day I die.

Sorry for your loss. I know how much a dog means to a family, I had to put down my Yellow lab after 12 years in Jan 2000. Within a week I bought a Black Lab, she is now going on 14 years old (born Nov 1999) She is watching me type this looking at me with her gray muzzle. I know her time is coming and it will be sad. I've been around dogs all my life and I know they are only in our lives a short time. After she passes I will find another Lab, a yellow lab this time. Cherish the memories of all the good times and hunts. The sadness will pass and there maybe a new puppy in your future.

Been there a bunch. Put down three K-9 partners in three years. No easy way to deal with it except time. Remember all the goofey looks and good times. I hope they are waiting on us.

Thank you to everyone for the kind words, feeling better everyday & thankful I was blessed with such a great friend!

It's funny you mention this, I actually have a downpayment on a Deutsch Drahthaar due around May 21. I was hoping Cooper would be around to meet him, kind of a passing of the torch. Can't wait to start my new adventure with the pup!

Hunt 'em up, Cooper. I have a sign on my garage that says "Heaven is the place where all the dogs you've ever loved come to greet you". I do believe that's true.

Well my new pup was born May 20th! Although he will never replace Cooper, I look forward to the time we will spend together beating the woods & waters & the bond that can only be had between man & dog.
He is coming from vom Slaney Vale Drahthaars in Manitoba, Hugh Slaney is first class in every way!
