Well It Has Been a Very Rough Thanksgiving to now!!!! & It Will Get Harder!! Had a Stress test 11-26-13. Ended up in the Hospital being told that i Will have Quadrupal bypass first thing in the morning!!! Bypass started at 9:30 A.M. & Was put in ICU at 4:30 P.M. on 11-27-13 Needless to say I Have Had Better Thanksgivings. I am Home now Have 10# wait limit & NO Pushing or pulling with arms
So I am Going to be Starting over from scratch When I Get The O.K. Sometime in January to shoot my bows! Have Been Here before... But Hoped I would NEVER Have to begin at Zero Again But I still have everything I Need to do it!!!
Will be starting with a slingshot about the end of Feb. Start of March!!  :banghead:    :archer2:

Hey Jeff,

I hope your recovery goes well.  If you can't shoot soon, maybe you'll be ready for spring fishing.  I've fished the White River near you and loved it.

Best Wishes,

Dirtguy

Go slow, follow orders, and get well !

Glad to hear the surgery went well.

And forget about "starting over". You will be amazed how little accuracy you will lose. Some draw weight probably, but like riding the proverbial bike; you never forget.

I am thankful that you got your problem taken care of before it had a chance to take care of you.

The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Had quad bypass 4 years ago on 10/22. Killed a little buck 12/28. I probably pushed it a little bit  :)  You'll be back sooner than you know. Coughing is a real pain ain't it?   :)
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Once you recover from the surgery you will be surprised how well you feel. If you had a quad blockage, you were weakened more than you realize. Thank the good lord they caught it. You'll be back in notime.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Starting over is never from zero.  You have skill, experience, and knowledge.

I'm sure you will do well.  Confidence, compliance, and following instructions will get you across the finish line!

Catching the problem before it might have been too late is reason for very real Thanksgiving!
DO the therapy, LISTEN to the docs and you'll be ready for turkey season.
Praying for complete recovery!
