Thank you, Lord! NOt what you might have wished to hear, but the prognosis sounds good!

Start taking vitamins so it helps bouy your system for the radiation treatments!

Prayers indeed continue, Scott... Keep up apprised of your progress

Update: Should be doing the final simulation for radiation today - ties together the machine, me & my mask, and the computer model based on CT scans.  Tomorrow I have surgery to install chemo port and feed tube.  Wednesday is first day of chemo and radiation.
I hope getting thru this week will allow me to get back into some sort of a routine.
Thanks again for your prayers.

Sounds intense, Scott, but the good news is that you're fit and young and strong!

God won't forsake you, but you might not like all that comes from all this, but you WILL survive!

Attitude is everything! Prayers for you, that lovely bride and the boys to persevere and remain strong in faith and hope!

Well made it thru the first 3 of 35 treatments and the surgery for chemo port and feed tube.  As I suspected the feed tube has been the worst.  Not healing as it should and a pain to deal with.  Thankfully its only temporary.
Chemo was a long day.  Radiation usually has be wiped out by 3pm.  I take a nap and feel okay the rest of the evening.  Finally got a good 7-8 hours of sleep last night.  If I can string a few of those together I might acutally feel normal again.
My wonderful wife and oldest son took care of the lawn mowing yesterday.  They did a great job. Once less burden on my mind.
I'm really thankful for my whole family and my friends on this site.

Thanks for updating us, Scott. I've been wondering how it's going for you!

Only 32 more treatments to go... the tired is understandable.

Prayers that things start going a bit smoother, that the energy comes back and that you can beat this ugly sucker completely and get back to your old mischievous self sooner than later!

Your aggressive treatment is a great trial, but will knock this cancer on its butt. How wonderful that you have benefitted already, in the way your family has knitted together into a solid army for you. My prayers go up for you and your loved ones, as well as in praise of God's guidance and healing of souls.
Bless you all.

Spent the weekend in ICU from what was thought to be a serious infection.  Went home Sunday and back to ER Monday night.  Now drs think it could be reaction to a shot  I'm given prior to rad.  I'm back in ICU until tomorrow afternoon at best.

Thanks for your continued prayers and well wishes.

Scott,

My heart goes out to you with all these trials.  Were you back here like before, I'd come offer to do things to "help out" but being way up in the NE corner of PA, hands are tied.

The whole process of cancer treatment can be rigorous on your body.  Build your defenses with good supplements, and rely on God's Grace.

thanks for sharing as you have news and we will all pray that the news will improve as they learn your body's chemistry and your tolerances for the stuff they have to use!

Keep the Son in your eyes, old friend! Prayers for your bride and boys to stand in the gap!

Well I made it two weeks without a visit to the ER but that changed yesterday.  Ended up with a blood clot in my left leg. Went to ER in Warren and ended up life flighted to UPMC in Pittsburgh.  On blood thinners now but leg is still swollen.  Drs think I can be discharged today but my uncle ( also a dr) isn't so sure and is asking questions.  Better safe than sorry but I hate to miss any more rad treatments.
Through all this it's still good to see God work and prayers answered.

Aw, Scott... sorry to read of more complications. Clots are nothing to mess with! Be careful and keep trusting Him that knows all.

Prayers continue for less hassles through the remainder of your treatment and total eradication of the damned cancer cells!

Only 8 more rad treatments to go.  Having trouble eating now, lots of sores in my mouth and throat.
The end is in sight...

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

I know how tough you are Scott!

Good for the boys to see how it is when one toughs thru something challenging, and relies on their  Faith!

Sorry you have to go thru this...but I know you will do it in Grace!

Prayers continue for full healing, restoration and a clean bill at the end!

One more week of treatments then onto the recovery stage.  Looking forward to eating real food again in 2-3 weeks.
