All I know is that Tom needs more prayers at this point... I'd written to share I met some of his old cronies at the B'more shoot where he had many friends...and i got the following:

Hello, Dave!

Sorry for the short reply, but really weak and tired.
Going back in hosp. this week for more surgery.
Will try to e-mail as soon as I can.
Prayers appreciated.

Tom

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Dear Lord, We don't know the problem with Tom, but we do know you can fix it. Amen
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Hang in there Tom.  You are in my prayers daily.  God grant Tom complete healing.
Genesis 27:3 Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me [some] venison

Toehead, I think he shared about that in an email...that was before his operation.

Last I'd heard from him prior to the setback, was he was doing well recuperating...now this---whatever this was...

I hope to hear some good news soon, but don't want to call and disturb him given he's been so tired...and by now, back in the hospital for whatever. I don't want to trouble Glenda with calls either...knowing what trips back and forth to a hospital can do to wear one down.

Prayers abound till we all know more.  Tom's one of the good ones! Lord in your Mercy....

I got this Tuesday (yesterday) so Tom is at least around and kicking:

Hello Dave!

Making some progress here.  I get the results tomorrow on the biopsies they sent to the lab last week.

The procedure last week went well, and the fever & night sweats appear to be gone now.

Leaving here in the morning for Oklahoma City where I'm hoping to get good news from my doctors.

Hope to e-mail you soon with good news.

Tom

Please allow me to offer my sincere appreciation for your prayers, e-mails, and calls.  I got the results today from the surgery I had last week, and everything they took out last week has tested negative, or cancer free.  I go back on July 11 for another test, and if that comes back negative, I'll be declared cancer free.  In addition to thanking you for your prayers and concerns, I would like to urge you to have frequent check-ups.  If my cancer had not been found when it was, it would have been in all my major organs within 60 days, and I would have felt no pain until then.  I'd kind of like to have you good folks around for a while, so please consider getting regular check-ups.  Thanks again!

Just stopped by for one last look at Gang before heading out for the rest of the week.

Incredible news, Tom...and yes, diligence is always a first line of prevention.

It makes my heart soar like a hawk to hear that all is well and prayers the july 11 visit bears the same good news!

Thank you, Jesus!!!

Grateful to hear the good news.
May God keep you and augment your strength daily.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
