This afternoon, my cell rang...looked and it said it was Dave Leuscher (Bear1336).

Scared me for a minute, cause I'd just gotten word like Thursday he was moved from ICU after his battle with CHF, too weak for bypass surgery, and then finally had that surgery and was fighting this and that ailment after, along with a mild infection.

Well, it was ole Dave himself! He tuckers easily, so I told him to save his strength for Darlene and his daughter's impending visit and not talk himself out.  But it was so good to hear his voice...albeit weak, but sounded positive.

Prayers continue for a "good ole boy" and a good man and friend!

Lord in your Mercy... continue to be with Dave.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Hadn't had any replies to text since my call SAt so wrote a txt to DAve's Daughter.

Turns out,, they had to take more fluid off Dave's lungs... after CHF, it's a wonder he's alive! Now with the bypass surgery complete, I hope this is a normal expectation to draw off fluid till his heart strengthens and his heart is stronger and can pump off fluid on it's own!

Prayers continue for full restoration!

I received a text from Dave on Saturday. He is back home. He told me that he is still weak and a long recovery ahead.

I got that news from Sarah, his daughter, while on a trip and no internet.  Dave called me briefly Saturday... he gets panting easily talking, so I restrict myself to texts.

Sure was good to hear his voice though. He still needs a TON of prayers, for sure!

But joyful for his return home and improvement.

Got a text from Dave the other day...said "Stronger every day---slowly".

I called. First time he wasn't gasping for breath as we talked so I still kept it a short call, but good to hear him sounding a bit stronger after all he went thru. Still challenges with fluid in his legs...so they keep messing with meds...

Prayers continue for ole Dave...
