I'd posted earlier only saying a "friend" but got permission to be forthcoming today.

Tom Kidwell, previously from VA, and author of several trad archery books on hunt stories, developed prostate cancer living in OK.

It's very aggressive form, type 5 or something... he's waiting for a surgical appt and was moved up on the waiting list to use the new robotic process with less nerve damage and 1/2 the recovery time.

He's hoping for a early March surgical date and appreciates prayers.

He has written books on "Old Bowhunter" a sequel, Another Old Bowhunter, and then a hogs in america book.

Thanks for any prayers offered up for Tom.

Tom is a fine fellow and we will pray for his complete recovery.
Time spent alone in the woods puts you closer to God.

"Can't" never accomplished anything.

Tom.  Best of luck on the surgery.  Hope all goes just fine and you have a full and quick recovery.  Prayers sent my friend.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Prayers for the Lord to place his healing hands on Tom. Great author, read Old Bowhunter, did not know he had a sequal, will have to look for it.

Prayers are with you. Just remember that you can't push it after surgery. The surgery it's self isn't bad and you will want to do more than you should. I know this from experience. If you want to talk just holler......Lonnie

Tom - good to hear from you this afternoon.  You and Glenda are in my thoughts and prayers.  Good luck tricking the doc on Thursday and hope you get scheduled for surgery ASAP!

I know you'll be back chasing Sooner Swine very soon.

I've had a ton of people hold my head above water on this forum over the many years here... and this is just "paying it forward".

Tom did share he had a very scary incident with a very mild stroke this past week... always healthy and now 2 problems at one time.

Prayers the surgery can move forward without delay, the robotic process will "get it all" and no complications and a quick healing for Tom.

He's got some books to finish I think!  :)

Called today: Surgery scheduled for first week in April.  Glenda may have said 4/2...but she had a cold so it was hard to hear.

Prayers for the surgery to go well, all the cancer be contained in the prostate and be successfully removed w/out need for follow up radiation or chemo.

Lord, in Your Mercy...
