Axis Thinner

Just wanted to let everyone know that Johnny Gottler (JAG) will be having open heart surgery today.  I talked with him early this morning and he sounded like the Johnny we know and love so well. Please send some special prayers to the Great Spirit for JAG's speedy recovery.    Thanks, Steve

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

With his positive attitude seen here and on TGMM issues, I can only imagine that he and the Lord are on good terms and God's got him covered.

Prayers for that to be the case, for full recovery and the surgeon's hands to be guided by the Great Physician.

Fellas, I took a chance and called Johnny's cell. I was pleasantly surprised to hear his cheerful voice. Due to a "mix up" of Surgeon choices, he has not yet had his surgery.
He sounded great, so the PRAYERS are working.
Thanks so much and lets keep Johnny in our prayers.  Steve

It has to be a relief to finally be heading toward a solution!

Prayers continue for JAG and for our own Bear1336 who will be doing the same thing 2/20!

JAG

Thanks for all the prayers!  It means a bunch to an old man.
Nothing they could do with my plumbing.  The old grafts are not good..  Next option is I go on Feb 19 for evaluation to be place on a heart transplant list.
I have faith in the Great Spirit and faith that He will guide my Drs.  So continues the adventure that we call "Life".
Thanks again, Johnny

I guess I spoke prematurely, Johnny...reading your latest, it doesn't sound like you're moving toward a solution after all... at least not a surgical one for the near term.

Your Faith is sound and will carry you thru!

Prayers continue for His will to be for your healing and renewal!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Kinda "Good News"! I'm in too good shape to be considered for the transplant list.
Thr Dr. was very up beat and brutally frank, about my codition.
Yeah, I've still got problems, but not to the point where he wants to switch out parts. Said it was better to keep what I have and work with that until things get a lot worse.
The main thing they're worried about is the pressures that build up in the heart and lungs. don't want them getting any higher. So we'll work on that.
That means no heavy lifting, no pitching hay bales, no chainsawing overhead (said I could run chainsaw if I were careful, but not to cut myself with it), I can still run my tractors, just have someone help me hook up the heavy implements.
He said just be real careful at what weights I pick up and handle. Continue on with life and be careful.
I've still got a couple more physical tests to do this week and next, plus I'll have to wear a monitor for 24 hrs. After he gets those results he'll maybe modify or change some of my meds and monitor my progress form now on.
I asked about shooting my bow. First thing he ask was what was the wt of pull, when I told him 60-65# he said becareful. Then he asked if it were a compound and I told him no that it was a REAL BOW! He laughed and said to be careful, but he'd rather me not pull more than 50#. So I guess I'll either cut mine down or build another one.
If the weather is good I plan on heading to the Spring Fling, at Tannehill this weekend.
Thank you to everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I'm sure thats what got me this far and will keep me headed on the right path.
So continues the adventure!

Good to hear, Johnny! Prayers continue for you, and a long wait to start swapping out the standard equipment, haha! May God bless and keep you and yours, and may His love and strength keep life in your years!
