I kept putting this off cause there were rumors he was coming home Monday, and it is posted as an "update" on Pow Wow...but I think it's time we all pulled the carpet up and bent a knee.

Bernie Dunn, our own cheerleading, ever-present, Garden Gnome, Mini-Grunt ended up in the Hospital this past weekend with an infection in his kidney (I think)...they thought he'd get home next day, but then the docs wanted to be sure so the latest report on Pow Wow is that he's doing better, resting nicely, but that he won't be home right quick.

Let's bend one for our great li'l retired Marine who is always there to prod up a good thread and has been such a driving force on St. Jude's Auction and TGMM for YEARS!

Prayers up, Marine! Git er done!

keep the Son in your eyes, my friend!

Prayers from Ga for a complete and quick recovery.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

This was just posted by Bernie's good friend, Don Bateman:

"Problem with antibiotics for a few days but changed today and he say's he feels better for the first time since in there. They will keep an eye on him and maybe we will see him return mid to end of next week. I sure hope so."

I echo Don's hope that they have the right drug this time!

C'mon, B... we're pulling for ya!!!

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

We're hoping for his release in better condition by the end of the week... and to top all off, a tornado touched down near their place.

Don checked with B's wife, Rose and learned the house was fine and it hit about a mile away.

Prayers for those in the damage area and also continued prayers for Bernie and Rose

Don has an "Update on Bernie" post on Pow Wow...

seems the "infection" was really ecoli...nothing to mess with and they have our wee grunt on IV meds which are working and he's feeling a bit better from reports.

Love to see him home, but with that nasty ailment, they can keep him till their positive he's got it licked...no foolin with that mess!

Keep the Son in yer eyes, Bernie!

H'lo, folks,

I'm home now - on "semi-release" (with daily home nursing visits) and will be making a few short posts, here and there, as I can (What else would you expect from a short ol' "Mini-grunt"?)

Feeling fair to middlin' - all things considered (and so humbled by God's, and my friends and familie's, grace.

If you would like to do any little thing for the ol' jarhead then: PLEASE PUMP BATMAN'S UNPRECEDENTED HUNT OFFER FOR THE CHILDREN OF ST.JUDE for the last two days of this auction (that I've so shamelessly been absent for) and in the bonus days afterward, that Terry has so generously given us, you, and the precious kids.

Gos bless you all, God bless us all.

(This can also stand as one of the most memorable Memorial Day Weekends and St. Jude Auctions this humble servant has ever spent!)

Thanks for this, doc and for the prayers from the rest of you. You can only guess how much it means.

Bernie,

It just isn't the same w/out our 'mini-grunt' around to keep things moving and to pester!

Take care of yourself.

Don't push it getting those items out on St. Jude... take a while to get them all paid and folks will understand!

Bernie you're the best!

Keep the Son in your eyes, bro
