Last saturday a very good friend of mine that i have been hunting with for 12 years took his son for a ride on a ATV with the top on it.

They were going down a steep hill into a area we call the pit which has sand and gravel.

My friend got to the bottom and was getting ready to turn left which we have done many times when the ATV hit a large rock and stopped abruptly.

His 8 year old son was slammed into the dash head first and was killed in a matter of seconds, a tragedy that could have been avoided if he had his belt on.

My friend held his dying son after calling 911 and the cabin to get help. The only people at the cabin was his wife and his wife and 4 yr old girl.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and my friend and his family are devastated and so are his friends.

We take so many things for granted and we never know when tragedy will strike. Pray for my friend
and family and guys be careful when out in the field.

All our prayers to your friend and his family.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

Prayers sent, as a parent of a 9 year old I can not imagine what they are going through.
The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can't are both right!!!

I can't imagine the pain that he is feeling right now.  All he wanted to do is share his love of the outdoors with his young son, and it was all taken away from him in an instant.  I pray that this family is able to find peace and comfort during this tragic time.

Having gone thru a few tragedies with friends who lost children, I can only imagine what lies ahead for your friend...his wife...their marriage.

Prayerfully, the child is bouncing on Christ's knee and laughing in peace.

Prayers are for the family and the marriage.

Joe, you and their friends have a tall order to P.U.S.H (pray until something happens) to bind and bond the parents again.  Stay close. Force them to share...to get counseling...and don't quit once the funeral is over...that is when the real pain starts...especially with Holidays dead on us!

This, or the self-imposed guilt, can rip the best people and relationships in two!

Lord, in your Mercy, be with these folks in this intense time of need. Amen.

My son-in-law lost his youngest brother last year on one of those.  He was throw out, and broke his neck instantly.  I feel you pain, and have prayers sent for the family and their loss.
