...has glioblastoma multiforma, a grade 4 brain tumor.  He has had two surgeries with chemo/radiation in between.  He is now home in hospice care, and the doctors have basically given up on him.  He's a good, Christain man who seems to have accepted death.  Those of us still around aren't so accepting, and I'm sad that my son and daughter-on-the-way won't get to know their grandfather.  Please shoot an arrow for him, Bill Farwell.

Hey, Bart...

Sorry to hear of Bill's situation. As my Uncle's bone cancer return after remission my Uncle took me aside and told me, "Death is God's perfect healing"

Having that level of Faith and courage to face death is still not within me, but I do understand when someone comes closer to God that it is as it should be.

My prayers are with you all that are to be left behind. And another prayre for Bill's quiet and peaceful passing on to be with the Lord.

As one life ends, it sounds like you and that pretty li'l wife are now expecting #2. You'll just have to make sure that your son and upcoming daughter know the man who was through stories...

Peace my young friend. Regards and prayers to your wife and her family.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Thanks all for your thoughts and prayers.  My wife and son are driving up again today to be there for/with Bill.  He is very weak and not eating well.  But as my wife said, he "is the same old Dad" when he's awake.  That would include displaying the corny sense of humor rampant in her side of the family...

Peace and safe travels for your wife and young son, Bart. Bill sounds like a man to model after, demonstrating true Faith and dignity and the evil cancer takes it's toll.

May Bill's remaining time be peace-filled and allow him closure with all who love him. May those who watch with him be filled witht he Holy Spirit's peace that passess all understanding.

Thanks for sharing.  Prayers for you all.
